The Amsterdam Amazonas Reserve was created in the spring of 2007. The reserve is the exact size and shape of Amsterdam.
RainTrust Establishes Amsterdam Amazonas Reserve in Rainforest 41,100+ acre Reserve, identical in size and shape to the city of Amsterdam, to serve as model program in fight against global warming. January 6, 2006 (Amstrerdam, Netherlands) RainTrust officially announced the creation of a protected Amazon Rainforest Reserve in the exact same size and shape as the eco-conscious City of Amsterdam. The 166,570,000 sq. meter reserve (41,160 acres) is located in a pristine region of the Brazilian State of Amazonas and will be protected in perpetuity, according to laws of Brazil, in the names of the people, organizations, businesses, and government of Amsterdam. The announcement was made at a rainforest benefit RainTrust hosted at Amsterdam’s famous Botanical Gardens.
Celebration of the queen’s birthday. It is the biggest public party held throughout the Netherlands, in the capital Amsterdam traditionally the biggest crowd up to 500.000 taking to the streets. In a cooperation with local promoter TWSTD, Queensday was transformed into Greensday, raising awareness and selling sponsored acres and amongst others T-shitrs preserving 10 square meters as shown on the picture of the DJ at the event.
RainTrust was present at Holland's premier Dance Valley Festival event. RainTrust offered attendees an innovative SMS text messaging program enabling them to text message for one square foot of the rainforest and receive there personalized GPS coordinates of the property.
Dance Valley is one of the prominent Outdoor festivals of Europe it was founded in 1995 and is has developed itself to a ‘must go’ for many music lovers. It features more then 15 stages and 150 dj’s and artists.
